Jamiru & Co. is a law firm formed some 12 years ago, with Solomon Jamiru as its founding and Managing Partner, as well as Head of Chambers. The firm comprises erudite and dedicated legal practitioners who are enrolled and duly qualified to practice law in Sierra Leone at all levels. The firm has a combined experience of 30 years (with its head Solomon Jamiru having been called to the Bar in 2006). We emphasize professionalism, speed, and result, whilst seeking to deliver services based on the unique needs and circumstances of our clients. From our physical offices at 134 Pademba Road Top Floor, Freetown (and online), we offer a full range of legal and associated services to our diverse clientele: from corporate/commercial clients to non-governmental organizations, and international profit and non-profit corporate entities. We have served key sectors including banks and other financial institutions, oil and gas interests, mining companies, transport and logistics (including shipping, clearing and forwarding), communications, major importers, and service-driven entities, etc. We leverage considerable skills and experience predominantly in corporate/commercial matters. The team similarly possesses vast experience in criminal law and practice. Over the years, we have provided legal consultancy services, company secretarial services to corporate bodies, institutions, and organizations and have also served as retained solicitors for major corporate interests.

Solomon Alphonso Jusu Jamiru

Solomon Alphonso Jusu Jamiru

Solomon Jamiru has practiced law for 18 years (qualifying to serve as a Justice of the Court of Appeal). He was the overall second best student at the Sierra Leone Law School in 2006, and was awarded the highly covetous prize for drafting and construction of legal documents. He did his pupilage with Wright & Co (Solicitors) one of the leading law firms in Sierra Leone. Mr. Jamiru has conducted his practice over the years with consummate competence and craftsmanship, earning the trust and admiration of his peers, senior practitioners, benchers, clients, and the wider public. In the first few years of his practice, he served as In-House Solicitor for the mobile telecommunications company Millicom (SL) Limited from 2006-2008; He later served as Head of Legal, Administration and Human Resource at Zenith Bank (SL) Limited 2009-2011; Sat on the Board of the Sierra Leone Insurance Commission (2013-2016), and has represented many government and corporate interests. He has extensive experience in corporate/commercial practice, and has worked on international transactions, including complex offshore acquisitions. He is also immensely experienced in criminal litigation and advocacy. From June 2018 to January 2024, he served at the highest level in the government of Sierra Leone (including Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Spokesperson for the National COVID-19 Emergency Operations Center)). He last served as Press Secretary to the President from July 2023 until his resignation in January 2024 to continue his private legal practice. With his vast experience in both the private and public sectors, he is well-positioned to advise on current and emerging challenges that confront clients and help them navigate the bottlenecks to achieve speedy and satisfactory results.
